Make a difference in the lives of DC children experiencing homelessness! Play Ranger Volunteers spend one evening a week playing with children at a family homeless shelter, making a direct impact on a young person’s life. The vast majority of children we serve are African American, and so we strongly encourage people of color to volunteer. We need you today!
The Homeless Children's Playtime Project provides trauma-informed play programs for youth ages 6 months - 18 years old in four family shelters and transitional housing sites across Washington, DC. Play Ranger Volunteers serve at one of our sites, one night a week for two hours, for a minimum of 6 months.
To become a volunteer: attend a training and then complete our short volunteer application process. The next training is Wednesday, May 16th from 6:30-8:30pm at 1525 Newton St NW.
