Come out and help at our fun event Finish The Ride, Run, Walk N' Roll Santa Clarita. We need your help in several areas so everyone can have a successful finish!VOLUNTEERS MAKE IT HAPPEN AND HAVE FUN IN SERVICE TO OTHERS When you volunteer to make Finish The Ride Santa Clarita a success, you are rewarded in so many ways. The sun shines brightly on this fun, multi sport event, and you will look amazing in our sweet souvenir t-shirts while helping our amazing athletes prove to themselves and the world that they NEVER GIVE UP! As you know, your help is so important to advancing our mission of ending hit and run crimes as well as giving our participants a really great experience as they bike and run along the scenic back trails in Griffith Park. The jobs we need filled are listed below: PRE-PRODUCTION (all preproduction volunteers receive free ride/run admission)
TRUCK LOADING Saturday, September 23 9am-noon (Times may change)
PACKET PICK UP 12pm-4pm September 23th Arrive at packet pickup location with bibs and registration lists. Assign bibs to our participants and mark the registration lists. ROUTE MARKING Saturday, September 23rd 9am-2pm: 10 volunteers Arrive at Valencia Heritage Park via bike and/or vehicle. Divide 2'X2' signs, zip ties and route arrows and place stickers on the asphalt to indicate directional moves. Additionally, use zip ties to affix signs to poles to indicate directional moves. Jon Riddle, our route master will give you route slips and instructions. This is a fun job for the right person. Bring a friend or two, earn a free ride and have a great time. SET UP Saturday, September 23rd 1pm and 6pm Arrive at Valencia Heritage Park via bike and/or vehicle. Use your muscles and your creative abilites and help us get up the tents, tables and decorations and stuff goodie bags. PRODUCTION DAY THE BIG KAHUNA!
ROUTE CHECK September 24th 5am 2 volunteers, one to go by vehicle and one via bike. Ride the route and make sure that all signs are up and that the road conditions are open and ready for the cyclists.
REGISTRATION September 24th 5am-10am 8 volunteers Arrive at Valencia Heritage Park and assist runners and riders getting registered for the run or ride. Your day of contact will be Dayna Galbreath. Please check in with her upon your arrival. EXPO HELP morning September 24th 4am-10am 8 volunteers, Valencia Heritage Park assist with everything from directing the participants, passing out refreshments and keeping everything neat and clean EXPO HELP afternoon September 24th 10am-4pm 8 volunteers Valencia Heritage Park, assist with everything from overseeing the raffle ticket sales and prizes to passing out goodie bags and t-shirts to keeping everything looking neat and clean DRINK STATIONS September 24th 7am-Noon30 volunteers Valencia Heritage Park, Help our amazing athletes stay hydrated and get yourself a t-shirt and refreshments. ROUTE VOLUNTEERS September 24th 8AM-NOON 4 volunteers stationed on key points of the bike ride directing cyclists and keeping folks from getting lost. Will have radio communication, radio will be provided.
SAG SUPPORT September 24th 7am-2:30pm4 volunteers with vehicle suitable for picking up cyclists with their bikes. Stationed and roving around the bike route helping tired or cyclists with mechanical failure get back to the Finish Line. Everyone finishes the ride!
PIT STOP September 24th 6am-3pm 6 volunteers with vehicle and or mechanical expertise to go to our three pit stops with a table, chairs and refreshments and pass the food and beverages out to our hungry and thirsty participants on the bike routes. Meet at 6am at the Autry Museum. POST PRODUCTION (Free Ride/Run admission for those who perform these jobs)UNLOAD THE TRUCK Sunday, September 24th exact time TBD Help unload and return borrowed items and Finish The Ride materials to their respective homebases (Location to be determined)
SIGN REMOVAL Sunday, September24th exact time is flexible Ride and drive along the bike route and remove our Finish The Ride signs from posts along the route. Return the signs to FTR Headquarters in Hollywood. Thank you for your service!
