Our Just Like New program is offered to Tri-Valley community residents when they have an one-time medical need for an animal and they cannot afford the treatment.

What is involved with volunteering to help the Just Like New program:

1. Return phone calls and emails from the public when they contact us with a specific medical need. We receive 2 to 10 calls per month.

2. Interview prospective clients to make certain they have exhausted other financial avenues (credit cards, relatives, etc.) and meet our guidelines.

3. Set up an appointment with one of the vets in the area who provides us discounts.

4. Act as liaison between veterinarian and client

5. Approve treatment plan and approximate cost when within our budget and guidelines.

6. Schedule treatment based on client and vet's availability.

7. Coordinate with a writer to get a story written about this case (if appropriate).

NOTE: Prior or current Vet Technician experience or animal hospital is helpful but not required.
