Volunteers are needed to help us pick up, deliver and distribute donated food to low-income seniors living in affordable housing. Many of our residents do not have the means to purchase enough food and many also do not have transportation to pick up donated food available in the community. This is a very meaningful volunteer role and the help is desperately needed!

Pick up (pre-packed) grocery bags at Hayward Senior Center (22325 North Third St., Hayward 94546) and bring them back to 3 senior housing sites in Hayward. Volunteer must load/unload bags into and out of car on their own - bags weigh about 10-12 lbs. At the sites, bags are distributed to enrolled seniors and signatures collected on prepared USDA sign-up sheets. Volunteers will then be helping with distribution and interacting directly with the seniors.
