Purpose of Position: The Development Assistant has a key role in helping to support the day-to-day operations of ReDefiners World Languages. This position reports directly to the Executive Director and is expected to maintain frequent and timely communication to ensure goals are accomplished in a timely manner. The Development Assistant helps to develop and implement funding strategies to support the mission of the organization.

Hillsborough County
Duties & Responsibilities:
Researches relevant grant opportunities for RDWL activities and operations (foundations, corporations and government funding sources)
Completes grant applications on behalf of RDWL
Assists with managing strategies and activities for donor cultivation, solicitation, and relations.
Cultivates prospective donor relationships
Maintains existing donor relationships
Develops a comprehensive planned-giving program
Helps plan and coordinate fundraising events
Helps implement a strategic marketing plan
Length of Appointment: Ongoing
Time Commitment:
Approx. 5 hours per week
Occasional Weekends, hours determined by event-Community Outreach (no more than one event per weekend)
Support:
Executive Director will provide expectations and guidance where applicable
Requirements
Undergraduate/graduate background in Business Management, Marketing or related field
At least two years experience with an educational-based non-profit
Experience in FD Development and donor relations/Sales
Proactive work ethic
Proficient in Mailchimp and digital publishing tools
Able to maintain accurate and organized records
Comfortable with meeting short deadlines
Able to work well independently and within a team environment
Bilingual; Proficient in English and Spanish, Arabic, Mandarin
Strong Communication skills; oral and written
Preferred Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Marketing or related field

Founded by a full-time educator, parent, and advocate for language learning, ReDefiners is a non-profit organization that prides itself in being a pioneer in the early language education programing in Hillsborough County. The organization is made up of qualified teachers, international student volunteers and business professionals who are passionate about language and cultural education. We offer language classes in Arabic, Chinese (Mandarin), Spanish and English to youth and adults.
