The Tiyya Foundation, a local non-profit that provides basic necessities to refugee families, is holding a Halloween Soccer Tournament to benefit our youth soccer program.
We are looking for volunteers to help us the day of the tournament with registration, activities, food and lunch prep and other event duties.
Must be enthusiastic, love working with others, meeting new meeting and having fun!

In doing so, we hope to create a community that fosters the development of self-sufficiency, ultimately helping our program participants overcome obstacles and actively participate in society.
Description
After being uprooted, starting over can be very challenging and emotionally consuming for refugees and displaced families. Newly arrived parents struggle to navigate a foreign system in which basic daily tasks, such as public transportation, doctor's visits, grocery shopping, etc., become challenges. Furthermore, they cannot provide their children the support they need to succeed in school and feel part of our community .
Tiyya is a grassroots organization that provides programmatic support for the whole family. Led by volunteers, our vision is to create a society that is compassionate and understanding of refugee experiences through developing relationships and fostering the public’s engagement.
