Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
MISSION To provide basic necessities and educational opportunities for refugees, immigrants, & displaced American families. VISION By mentoring a cohort of youth and parents, we aim to promote a community which fosters the development of self-sufficiency. Our vision is to help clients overcome the obstacles of acclimation and actively participate in society. PURPOSE Since the Vietnam War, Los Angeles & Orange County have resettled over 200,000 refugees and asylees. Our volunteers provide mentorship for families transitioning in our communities; helping them to overcome trauma, acclimate with ease, and succeed in the United States.
Tiyya is a family oriented non-profit in the Orange County area. Tiyya's co-founders, board members, interns and volunteers are enthusiastically working towards providing refugee families with basic necessities, educational opportunities, and job training. Our dynamic team of volunteers provide services such as ESL tutoring, "study buddies", family guidance, translators, transportation, soccer, and social/community support. The Tiyya community is full of friendship and fun, as we regularly hold social events.
