ORGANIZATION: Sound Generations

Sound Generation Meals on Wheels will launch its’ 2nd annual MOW holiday fundraiser November 3-5, 2016. We’re inviting you to help us fight hunger for homebound older adults and ensure they get nutritious meals year round.

We are looking for volunteers to pass out cards at one of thirteen participating grocery stores located in Auburn, Seattle, Federal Way, Kent, Renton, and Burien. Inviting and encouraging customers at each store’s entrance to add a meal purchase to their grocery bill at checkout. Volunteers are needed for two hour shifts between the hours of 3pm and 8pm on Thursday and Friday, 12pm and 5pm on Saturday.

Sound Generations, established in 1967, is Washington State's most comprehensive non-profit organization that supports people on their aging journey through community connections and accessible services. Established in 1967, we support almost 54,000 older adults, disabled persons, and those who care for them annually in King County.

Description

Our eleven programs operating throughout numerous community and senior center sites are constantly striving to expand the provision of food security, transportation, health & wellness, and assistance services to under served and marginalized populations. We are committed to helping all people, especially those in low-income communities and communities of color, obtain the services they need while feeling included and respected in a community that affirms aging.
