Dear all,

I can’t believe it’s that time of year again! I wanted to touch base to see if you would be interested in being a driver volunteer for this year’s 23 rd Annual Austin Film Festival.

here’s what we’ll need to get started:

  • You have to be 25 years old or older
  • A copy of your 3 year driving record ( http://www.dps.texas.gov/DriverLicense/driverrecords.htm)
  • Valid Texas driver’s license
  • Proof of current insurance

*The driving record fee will be reimbursed with receipt. Also, I would love to meet with you in the next few weeks if possible to collect this information as well as chat a little bit about your availability. Please send along dates and times that work best for you.

All the drivers will receive a 1.5 hour bonus for the hours they put in compare to normal volunteers at our festival.

The hours they put in will allow them to get compensation such as a film pass that give you access to 8 days of film screenings. If they want to do more shifts, they can get access to parties and other events as well. (see https://austinfilmfestival.com)

The duties for drivers includes picking up guest from the airport to their destinations and vice versa. There are also red carpet events that they could drive. We also provide vehicles for the drivers.

This year the festival is Oct 13 th to Oct 20 th. (See https://austinfilmfestival.com/) But we also need drivers that are available on the Oct 12 th or even the 11 th.

Thank you!

About Austin Film Festival

Location:

Mission Statement

The Austin Film Festival is dedicated to championing the work of aspiring and established filmmakers, defined as screenwriters, directors, editors, producers, actors and all artists who use the language of film to tell a story. The AFF furthers the art, craft and business of filmmaking by providing unique cultural events and services, enhancing public awareness and participation and encouraging dynamic and long-lasting community partnerships.

Description

Austin Film Festival furthers the art and craft of filmmaking by inspiring and championing the work of screenwriters, filmmakers and all artists who use the language of film to tell a story.

What AFF is probably best known for around the world is its annual October Austin Film Festival & Conference.

The Film Festival & Conference was the first event of its kind to take the lead in bringing professional and amateur screenwriters (and now filmmakers) together to celebrate the role of the screenplay in filmmaking and discuss the considerable creative possibilities of writing for film and television. Equally important, the Conference brought producers, agents and screenwriters together to foster the sale of screenplays and launch long-term successful careers.

Hundreds of writers’ groups, services and festivals have followed the Conference’s model over the past ten years, reinforcing the value of its continuing mission to recognize the art of screenwriting.
