A Free Bird is a 501(C)(3)non-profit organization based in New York City. Our focus is to provide children, ages 4-18 who are patients or survivors of juvenile cancer, the opportunity to explore their artistic passions and give them the strength to fight their disease. We believe that artistic expression is critical for healing! A Free Bird supports children affected by cancer in their exploration of art, music, acting, poetry, writing, singing and any other artistic passion they may have.
We are seeking a highly motivated, passionate and enthusiastic individual who will join our HR Team to help bring onboard amazing Art Tutors for our Fight Free Program!
Our Fight FREE program provides children, ages 6-18, who are currently fighting cancer, with art tutors to give these young people the strength and power necessary to help them fight their illness. A Free Bird collaborates with university art students and cultural institutions to provide children with both an outlet for their creative energies and hope for their futures! We set up each child with a talented, caring tutor for one-on-one lessons, so that they can continue with their favorite art form even while undergoing treatment. These lessons occur weekly, or every two or three weeks, depending on the needs and desires of the child. A Free Bird provides the necessary tools and allows instructors to come directly to the hospital or a child’s place of residence.
