Come volunteer at Meeker Creek for the 2nd annual Green Puyallup Day! This amazing site was a channelized ditch just a few years ago. Now after extensive work 1,100 feet have be transformed into a natural floodplain and habitat area. Lots of work still needs to be done, so come out get your hands dirty and continue to enhance this amazing green space. We will be removing Blackberry and preparing the site for plants.

Mission Statement
Forterra's mission is to act with immediacy to protect, enhance and steward our region's most precious resources--its communities and its landscapes. Since 1989, we have been working toward a future in which our children and grandchildren can experience nature in and around our urban environments.
Description
Forterra conserves land by working with individuals, companies and local governments. We strive to maximize the ecological value of land, while meeting the needs of landowners. We may accept land as a donation, purchase it, or transfer it to public ownership. We often serve as a broker to identify and negotiate the most effective ownership to protect important lands. We establish conservation easements to preserve special features. For each and every property, we explore available strategies or create new ones to provide permanent protection. Forterra has established a Conservation Agenda for our region, with specific priorities and methods for each type of landscape. Current initiatives include the protection of working forests on the foothills of the Cascades, and the creation of salmon sanctuaries along our region's highest quality rivers and streams.
