Purpose:

To care for children ages 0-5 who have witnessed intimate partner violence while their mothers attend a support group.

Benefits of Position: Experience with children ages 0-5, increase understanding of domestic violence and resources for survivors.

Qualifications:

Background check, 18 or over, reliable transportation, experience working with young children, can agree to and comply with a confidentiality waiver.

Our group is only for Spanish-speaking women; ideal candidates for the childcare providers are folks who are bilingual English/Spanish or monolingual Spanish-speakers (not required) and who have experience working with children 0-5 years of age and are able to commit to the 6 month group length.

Responsibilities:

Supervise and engage in play with young children. Help transition children back with their mothers after group.

Training/Resources Provided:

Orientation prior to the group begins regarding the purpose of the group and logistics as well as support in prep for the volunteer opportunity and any information needed once involved.


Schedule:

Friday mornings from February 17th - August 4th on Fridays from 10-12pm.
