The Gala continues to be a critical part of our fundraising efforts, and allows us to work with the most vulnerable men and women in our community to help end their homelessness. We rely on our amazing volunteers to help make this evening a success.
Our event will be held on Saturday, November 5th at the Laguna Cliffs Resort & Spa in Dana Point. The theme is In Our Backyard, and will take place on a gorgeous lawn overlooking the Dana Point Harbor. For more information please visit http://www.friendshipshelter.org/2016-gala.
We're looking for volunteers to help throughout the evening, including with:
- Registration & checking guests in as they arrive
- Silent auction check-out
- Opportunity drawing ticket sales
- Donation collection
There will be a volunteer training and orientation directly before the event begins, and we will provide dinner for all volunteers.

Friendship Shelter helps homeless adults achieve self-sufficiency and become more productive members of our community.
Description
Friendship Shelter was incorporated in 1987 to provide year-round shelter and rehabilitation to homeless adults. Today we provide a full complement of rehabilitative services to those most in need and addresses the many interrelated problems of homelessness, including mental and physical health, drug and alcohol addiction, personal responsibility, education, and employment opportunity. To date, more than 10,000 people have participated in a Friendship Shelter program, and each night nearly 150 homeless people sleep safe, warm, and cared for.
