Come have fun and play with children with special needs, all while making a HUGE difference for their families. Parents get a break from the 24/7 care to relieve stress, renew energy, and restore balance. While these families always need extra support, the current COVID-19 situation has discontinued many of other support resources. This little break once a month is so important.

Volunteers to sign up online www.kotm.org/volunteer-portal or groups can call (385)292-5628. Dates available are Friday and Saturday nights. Volunteers ages 16+.

At this time, volunteers will be required to answer a questionnaire concerning COVID-19 symptoms and have their temperatures taken prior to service. Facial masks are required (we'll have some extras, but bring your own if possible) and hand sanitizer will be used by all participants every 30 minutes. We serve at risk children and are happy to take any precautions to keep them safe.

***When signing up to volunteer please note that we have the easiest time filling our volunteer slots in Orem. However, we have a bit harder time finding the volunteers we need in Springville and Lehi. Please consider driving a few more minutes to help families in these areas receive the respite they need.***

Mission Statement

Supporting the development of young children and families

Description

At Kids On The Move, our mission is simple: to support the healthy development of young children and families in Utah.

We empower families, one kid at a time, to lead more successful lives and to be less dependent on government assistance through five major service programs:
Early Head Start, Early Intervention, Respite Care, Child and Family Mental Health, and our Autism Center.

Early Head Start focuses on low-income families facing challenges, such as teen or single parents. They also learn how to make nutritious meals and how to set and achieve goals for family self sufficiency.

Early Intervention enhances development and reduces the impact of disabilities and developmental delays for infants and toddlers. We provide services such as speech, physical and occupational therapy, family training, nursing and social work.

Respite Care is the temporary care of children with special needs, providing a short period of rest or relief to their usual caregivers. We provide Respite Care to families of children with special needs to give them a 3.5 hour break on weekend nights so that caregivers can relieve stress, renew energy, and restore balance.

Child and Family Mental Health offers a wide range of mental health services important to all family members.

We’ve expanded our Autism Center to prepare kids older than three with social skills and learning experiences needed to successfully enter the school system. We provide families with the quality services they need, not just the services they can afford.
