The next TN State Director can live anywhere in the state and the pageant can be held anywhere in the state of TN between Oct-May. Now that there is an existing template of schedules, spreadsheets, scripts, work flow, check lists, contact lists and a sponsor that has already committed to donate 100% of the funds needed for 2017, the main role of the 2017 TN State Director is to: Assemble and lead a team of 40 volunteers and 30 participants to plan over the next four to six months the 2017 TN Miss Amazing Pageant and support the six TN Queens as they raise funds and prepare to represent our state at the national event. Requires about 10 - 20 hours a week during the four months leading up to pageant weekend and 5 hours a week for the two months following State pageant compiling results reports to National and preparing six Queens to compete at Nationals in July. Tennessee Miss Amazing Pageant provides opportunities for young women with disabilities to build self-confidence through the skills learned in pageantry. The mission of Miss Amazing Inc is to provide opportunities for girls and women with disabilities to build confidence and self-esteem in a supportive environment.
Description
TN Miss Amazing Pageant exists to celebrate the young woman who overcomes her disability and lets her personality and confidence shine through. This type of radiance does not always shine though perfect speech or eloquent sentences, but through the contestant's pure happiness with herself. As the participants embark on their own journey through the TN Miss Amazing Pageant, they will learn to become more comfortable with carrying on a conversation with a new acquaintance, with standing in front of a crowd and believing they are beautiful, and with declaring their unique qualities for everyone to hear. With practice and unwavering support from volunteers and other participants, any girl has the ability to confidently complete each phase of the program and grow through the experience.
The program is broken up into seven age divisions ranging from ages 5 - 99. These young ladies will participate in three areas: Interview, Introduction and Evening Wear.
Talent Showcase: An optional activity offers each participant the opportunity to show off her favorite talent and to strive for improvement.
