Come out to Deadman’s Pond Watershed Center to celebrate National Public Lands Day and help improve the Clark’s Creek Watershed! We will be removing blackberries and planting native plants to create a healthier, more resilient forest. No experience is necessary, so bring along your whole family for a fun morning of volunteering!
What to Bring: Dress for the weather: wear closed toe shoes and long pants, and make sure to bring along a water bottle. Tools will be provided.
Where to Meet: Meet at the small building just up the hill from the pond at 1605 96th Street E, Puyallup WA.

Mission Statement
Forterra's mission is to act with immediacy to protect, enhance and steward our region's most precious resources--its communities and its landscapes. Since 1989, we have been working toward a future in which our children and grandchildren can experience nature in and around our urban environments.
Description
Forterra conserves land by working with individuals, companies and local governments. We strive to maximize the ecological value of land, while meeting the needs of landowners. We may accept land as a donation, purchase it, or transfer it to public ownership. We often serve as a broker to identify and negotiate the most effective ownership to protect important lands. We establish conservation easements to preserve special features. For each and every property, we explore available strategies or create new ones to provide permanent protection. Forterra has established a Conservation Agenda for our region, with specific priorities and methods for each type of landscape. Current initiatives include the protection of working forests on the foothills of the Cascades, and the creation of salmon sanctuaries along our region's highest quality rivers and streams.
