Korean American Community Services is in need of individual tutors who are willing to help our clients with the process of studying for the citizenship exams. Unfortunately it is hard for us to find Korean native speakers who can assist our KA population with this process. If you are passionate about the KA community and would like to support in some way, help us advance our clients' possibilities by helping them becomes citizens of this country!

About Hana Center (Formerly Korean American Community Services)

Location:

4300 N California Ave, Chicago, IL 60618, US

Mission Statement

Our mission is to empower Korean American, immigrant and multi-racial communities through social services, community organizing, culture and education to advance human rights.

Description

TWO KOREAN AMERICAN ORGANIZATIONS CAME TOGETHER IN 2017 UNDER THE CONVICTION THAT WE ARE STRONGER TOGETHER.

HISTORY

Launched in February 2017, HANA Center is a merger of Korean American Community Services (KACS, founded 1972) and Korean American Resource and Cultural Center (KRCC, founded 1995). Meaning "one" in Korean, HANA is the culmination of a vision held by key stakeholders of KRCC and KACS. These leaders recognized the great potential of establishing a single, united organization that combined KACS’ history of responding to the critical needs of the Korean American and local resident communities and KRCC’s track record of powerful community organizing, advocacy and celebration of cultural heritage.

VALUES
In Korean, HANA means "one". We are stronger together than apart. Our shared history and culture are our strengths. By combining our resources, we can accomplish more for our community together than we can by ourselves.

VISION
HANA Center is a merger of Korean American Community Services (KACS) and Korean American Resource & Cultural Center (KRCC). HANA is committed to serving the diverse interests of our community - including immigrants, women, youth, people of color, low-income families, older adults, LGBTQ+ and adoptees.
