The 2018 hurricane season has been extraordinarily active in parts of the U.S., with Hurricane Florence currently impacting millions in the Carolinas. As this natural disaster unfolds, the staff here at VolunteerMatch is doing its part to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you are prepared and safe. Direct visitors through the Museum and maintain safety standards for visitors and the museum.
Responsibilities and Duties
Welcome and engage visitors
Provide Museum and aviation related information for visitors
Direct visitors throughout the Museum
Stay up to date on all Museum exhibits and events
Must be able to communicate effectively in English
Basic knowledge of aviation and Museum facility
Standing, sitting, and walking for up to four hours may be required
Must maintain a positive, outgoing, and energetic attitude
Volunteers are expected to volunteer for a four hour shift at least once per week. A minimum of 8 hours per month is required by all volunteers. Shifts available are - 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Onsite training will include introduction to the job with the Volunteer Coordinator and a tour of the Museum.
Volunteers are expected to maintain a neat personal appearance. Volunteers are required to dress in business casual attire (clean collared shirt and slacks). Gallery Ambassador Volunteers report to the Visitor Service Lead.
