Purpose of Position Welcome and greet visitors through the aircraft in the Aviation Pavilion offering assistance to visitors wishing to take self-guided tours. Volunteers rotate among Air Force One, BAC Concorde, Boeing 787, and Boeing 747. Volunteers will provide customer service such as answering questions about these exhibits, taking count of visitors going inside, and monitoring traffic flow. It is a great opportunity to meet people from all over the world and support four of the Museum’s most popular artifact. Responsibilities and Duties Engage with visitors Manage lines Keep visitors safe Keep tally of how many visitors enter the exhibit Qualifications People skills Interest in aviation/airplanes Volunteers must be 15 years of age or older Commitment Expected Aviation Pavilion volunteers will be expected to work a minimum of 8 hours per month. Shifts available are - 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Training Onsite training will be provided, including information on each aircraft and airplanes in general. Physical Requirements and Safety Concerns Pavilion Ambassadors may be required to stand for extended periods of time and climb stairs. Other Volunteers are required to dress for the weather. No advertisements are allowed on clothing unless they are aviation-related. Pavilion Ambassadors report to the Pavilion Lead.

Aerospace Camp Experience (ACE) Youth Volunteer Are you interested in working with youth? Looking to gain leadership skills and knowledge? Get started at The Museum of Flight as an Aerospace Camp Experience (ACE) Youth Volunteer! Principle Duties: The Aerospace Camp Experience (ACE) Youth Volunteer will support camp activities led by ACE staff to encourage a fun and safe environment for campers between the ages of 4-8 years old. Duties include gathering materials to support classroom activities and helping campers complete a variety of projects and activities (e.g., cut paper, help apply tape or glue, model and assist with camp games, and escort camp groups to-and-from physical locations). Requirements: Friendly individuals with an enthusiasm and interest in The Museum of Flight Experience working with children Interest working in education or childcare Ability to succeed in a crowded, noisy, fast-paced environment Maintain a neat personal appearance and adhere to the ACE dress code (ACE t-shirt provided) Between the ages of 14-17, preferred

Art + Flight Zone Volunteer The Art + Flight Zone is our special exhibition-themed Flight Zone, an area where children of all abilities can learn about art through play. There will be a number of art and flight related interactives including Museum collections art magnet boards and an art making station. The Art + Flight Zone is located adjacent to the Side Gallery and will have something for kids of all ages! The Art + Flight Zone Volunteer will work in the Art + Flight Zone, assist visitors with interactives, keep the area clean and organized, and answer visitor questions about space and aviation related topics. Duties: Answer visitor questions about space and aviation related topics Resupply the craft table Keep the area clean and organized Ensure that visitors are using interactives as attended Provide welcoming, helpful, and friendly service to all visitors Knowledge and Skills: Energetic, outgoing, and friendly individuals with an enthusiasm and interest in the Museum Must be comfortable working around children of all ages Ability to succeed in a crowded, noisy atmosphere Must be able to stand and/or walk for at least four hours at a time Skilled with interacting with the public, retaining a courteous manner at all times Speak fluent English; fluency in other languages is a plus Maintain a neat personal appearance and adhere to the preferred dress code Volunteer must be 15 years of age or older
