American Red Cross Disaster Shelters play a vital role in providing safe refuge for individuals & families who must leave their homes without alternative shelter to ride out the storm. Be pro-active and get your training now, as helpers are actively sought year-round. This assignment will activate post-disaster and will cover 8-12 hours shifts.
Volunteers will help in the distribution of food and water, greeting shelter occupants, and addressing the occupants' needs.
The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors. The American Red Cross, through its strong network of volunteers, donors, and partners, is always there in times of need.
