ORGANIZATION: Shark Stewards

Young shark champ

Shark Stewards is seeking a creative volunteer to launch our end of-year fundraising campaign to support our endangered sharks campaign and US shark fin ban appeal. We are also seeking a person experienced in donations and development to advise, create and cultivate new development opportunities. We are seeking passionate individuals who love the ocean and will help us support our mission saving sharks from overfishing and the shark fin trade and protecting critical marine habitat.

Hours are flexible and we can communicate by phone, skype, email. We are looking for help for a development strategy, promoting the#GivingTuesday campaign up to December 3rd, the Patagonia matching funds and searching for individual higher- end donors, increasing our donation base for our shark and marine protection work in SE Asia.

Thank you for your interest!

Mission Statement

Restoring ocean health by saving sharks and protecting critical marine habitat.

Description

Shark Stewards employs education, science and media to gain public support and advocate policy for shark conservation and marine protected areas.

We are leading the effort to educate and establish marine protected areas and ban the shark fin trade in North America, and are expanding across the Pacific into Asia with our Pacific Shark Alliance.

At home we are helping rstore habitat in the San Francisco Bay, and keeping the Bay clean through our beach clean ups in the National Parks waterfront in San Francisco.

Based in San Francisco, Shark Stewards is a project of The Earth Island Institute, an environmentalist think tank founded by David Brower and a 501c3 non-profit.
