The Mercer Island Thrift Shop is looking for volunteers to fill two skill levels in our jewelry department.

Jewelry Lead - A jewelry lead has substantial knowledge of designers, trends, gems, metals, testing methods and research options in order to assess the pricing of jewelry in a secondary market. The primary responsibility of this position is to price merchandise before it is moved to the sales floor. To maximize this skilled talent, the Jewelry Production Assistant (job description below) plays a vital role in in preparing the jewelry so that the Jewelry Lead may efficiently use his or her limited time as a volunteer.

Jewelry Production Assistant - A jewelry production assistant prepares and organizes all jewelry and beauty products for a lead to price. This position will also help to maintain the displays, rotation of product and signage on the retail sales floor.

• The ability to see markings through a magnifying glass

• Good fine motor skills

• The ability to work in a warehouse setting
