Potential Aquatics Volunteer Assignments:
Lane Timer - Times the race at the queue of the starter, stopping the clock as the athlete touches the final wall. Reports both times from each lane on time card and hand card to runners. Helps athletes in/out of water if necessary.
Escort Stager- Escorts participants from the staging area to the ready bench and keeps the participants in the correct order. Assists the ready bench stager in readying the participants for the start of the race. Extra escort stagers are needed for the relays that have entries and finishes at opposite ends of the pool.
Ready Bench Assistant- Assists the ready bench stager keep athletes in their proper positions as they move to the start line.
Runners- Run time cards from the clerk of course to head timers, and then after the race, from the head timers to the scorer.
Awards Volunteer - Responsible for lining up athletes in correct awards order and preparing awards for distribution.
Attire: Please dress for comfort and mobility. Wear comfortable shoes - you will be on your feet most of the time, no flip flops or sandals allowed. No swim suits, short shorts or inappropriate clothing.
Parking: General parking is available at the A&M Natatorium. Please park across the street.
For security purposes, please make sure to bring a current photo ID with you to the volunteer check-in area.
Minors must be accompanied by an adult.

Special Olympics Texas serves more than 55,000 athletes: male and female, children and adults. We offer local, area, regional, and state competitions in 22 different sports. We have 4 regional offices and 19 area offices located around the state of Texas.
