Mission Statement

To provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for persons eight years of age and older with intellectual disabilities [mental retardation], giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

Description

Special Olympics Texas serves more than 55,000 athletes: male and female, children and adults. We offer local, area, regional, and state competitions in 22 different sports. We have 4 regional offices and 19 area offices located around the state of Texas.

I recommend Special Olympic is a great but very nice environment in the new building. I want to go back to start my first volunteer hope during next week through before Christmas and after Christmas.
