Through our partnership with City College, we have a Job Club class taught by a CCSF faculty member located at CCSF downtown campus that is attended by Arc SF clients (adults with developmental disabilities). Volunteers help the teacher facilitate the class and work with students in small groups.

The details:

Class topics include:

▪ Interview and communication skills

▪ Showing respect, helpfulness, and good attitudes at work

▪ Time management

▪ Job-hunting documents

▪ Job-hunting and workplace vocabulary

▪ Professional presentation and behavior for various work environments

▪ Addressing problems at work and in the job search - how to get help, asking questions, and handling emotional situations

▪ Supporting yourself and others in finding work and keeping work

Tuesdays & Thursdays, 12:30 - 2:45

▪ 12:30 - 1:00: Individual and small group work

▪ 1:00 - 2:45: Whole class work

Beginning Tuesday, August 16

Ending Thursday, December 15

(Holidays: October 18, November 24)

(88 4th Street, at the corner of 4th and Mission)

Hoping to find a volunteer to commit to the whole semester and be able to be there for the entire time slot (12:30-2:45). If you can only commit to one of the days each week (Tues or Thurs), though, that would be okay. Also willing to accomodate volunteers that can only come every other week or can only be there for part of the time slot.
