ORGANIZATION: Rescuing Leftover Cuisine Inc

Rescuing Leftover Cuisine is a food rescue nonprofit organization that is dedicated to eliminating both food waste and hunger! We are looking for a Core Rescuer, a member of our leadership team of volunteers, to help with ten food rescue events per week, for a time commitment of 8-10 hours per week. You will pick up leftover food from restaurants, delis, kitchens, and offices, and deliver it to local homeless shelters and soup kitchens. This position will come with a stipend at the end of the commitment OR an unlimited monthly MetroCard for each month. The Core Rescuer position is a four month commitment.

Rescuing Leftover Cuisine (RLC) is a nonprofit organization committed to fighting food insecurity and preventing wasted food. We have cultivated a network of dedicated food rescuers who bring food directly from our food donors to nonprofit recipients, letting neighbors help neighbors while reaping the environmental and economic benefits of reducing wasted food. Founded in 2013, our simple, but elegant model has saved over 8 million pounds of food since our inception.
