Illiteracy means the inability to carry out every day functions and it affects the community in multiple ways.
Help adult learners to improve their literacy and academic skills, and have an impact on their daily, social, professional, and personal lives in a positive way!
Assist adult learners meet literacy and academic goals by meeting with them individually for one to two hours, once or twice a week. Meet with adult students at a predetermined location to practice skills ranging from basic literacy to High School Equivalency (formerly known as the GED) test prep. Assess the student's progress throughout tutoring sessions.
Free training is provided to volunteers to ensure confidence, comfort, and success. Meeting times and locations are determined by student and tutor making it very flexible.
