About

Strategic Recruitment Lead: Responsible for overseeing all members of the Recruitment Team, including School Recruitment, Worksite Recruitment, and Community Recruitment Leads. Duties Include: helping identify sources for teams and participants, contacting various organizations and doing presentations to interested organizations. Provide committee leads and members direction and guidance. Report on team/participant recruitment and worksite and organization partnerships. Ensure proper recognition of top fundraising individuals, teams and sponsors.

School Recruitment: Duties Include: helping identify sources for teams and participants through local schools and school districts, youth sports, and youth organizations, doing presentations on how they can get involved, provide direc tion and guidance to those interested, and support them in their fundraising efforts. Market the event with the assis tance of the Marketing & Publicity volunteer.

Worksite Recruitment: Duties Include: helping identify sources for teams and participants, contacting various busi nesses/companies/corporations, doing presentations, provide direction and guidance to those interested and support them in their fundraising efforts to reach a sponsorship level. Market the event with the assistance of the Marketing & Publicity volunteer. Ensure qualifying companies are registered for the VIP area and participating.

Community Recruitment: Duties Include: helping identify sources for teams and participants, contacting various com munity organizations, doing presentations, provide direction and guidance to those interested and support them in their fundraising efforts. Market the event with the assistance of the Marketing & Publicity volunteer.

Resource & Mentor Lead: Responsible for ensuring all teams from previous Relay For Life are contacted and participating in upcoming event. Mentor new team captains and participants, helping them with delegation, fundraising and organization tips. Train and motivate team captains, team members, and participants to fundraise to reach or exceed their monetary goals.

Marketing & Publicity: Develop a plan and delegate to committee members placement of signage throughout St Louis city and county. Identify team captains/participants, survivors, and caregivers for publicity opportunities. TV and Radio Media will managed by ACS Communications Manager. Recruit a minimum of 1 photographer for the event.

Logistics: Responsible for ensuring the event is fun and safe for all involved. Work with the Park Managers at Forest Park with on site layout and set up, organize traffic control, help with the schedule of events and make sure that we have all necessary supplies for the event. Work with Entertainment Lead to determine stage, lighting, and sound needs, as well as fireworks.

Survivorship: Oversee a committee and the coordination of all aspects of survivor & caregiver activities; recruit survivors & caregivers, retain previous year event survivors & caregivers, and plan reception and any other events planned on site.

Website Manager / Social Media: Work closely with ACS staff person to maintain website with local event information and serve as main contact for online questions. Use social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to keep the event relevant through pictures, recognition of sponsors, top fundraisers, etc and our ACS mission.

Mission Delivery / Advocacy: Work closely with ACS staff and a committee to ensure that the ACS;s message and mission are being communicated during the event. Plan activities to educate participants and the ACS’s work and recruit grassroots advocates are the main responsibility.

Luminaria: Coordinates all aspects of the Luminaria ceremony-from encouraging the sale of luminaria to keeping track of those honored or remembered, to working the ceremony committee to plan the actual Luminaria Ceremony the night of the event.

Entertainment: Responsible for locating and securing entertainment to take place on the big stage,. Including Dj’s, bands, performance groups, etc. Serve as the Stage Manager during the event and ensure everything runs as scheduled on the main stage. Coordinate fireworks to close the event.

Accounting: Helps with the collection of money at the event. Verify team money turned in before and at the event. Responsible for bank deposit at the event.

Volunteer Coordinator: Recruit, train, and assign volunteers day of the event.

Pre-Relay Events Coordinator: Help to plan and coordinate fundraising events throughout the year. Work with local businesses, schools and organizations to plan fundraisers for the event. Coordinate logistics for these events. Coordinate, recruit volunteers and oversee the sales at the Merchandise Tent.
