Make the Difference in the Life of a Child: Our mentors work one on one after school helping K through 3rd grade hispanic students with homework and reading. We volunteer at Dresden Elementary School on Tuesday and/or Thursday from about 2:45 to 4:15 during the school year. You do not need to know Spanish but just have an interest in making the difference in the life of a child. You will see the benefits to the child you tutor! The children are eager to learn. By talking and reading with an English speaking adult just twice a week, students gain confidence in speaking English, develop their reading skills, and increase their vocubulary. No experience necessary.
