The Safe at Home Program is designed to provide a safe and secure environment for our home bound Recipients. Many studies have shown that it is more cost effective to help seniors stay in their own homes and that they have a better quality of life
By helping with home repairs, we can raise the comfort level of our Recipients while ensuring that they have a safe place to call home.
Fall risk is a big factor for our older Recipients and something as simple as the instillation of a grab bar can provide that extra measure of support when they need it the most.
Most of our projects can be completed in a short afternoon. Giving a couple of hours can mean so much to our Recipients.
Jobs might include:
- Installing Safety Grab Bars
- Installing Fire Alarms
- Installing Door locks
- Clearing up a yard
- Painting Curb Numbers
- Installing porch lights
Or
Working with larger groups for carpentry or painting projects
