A Free Bird is a 501(C)(3)non-profit organization based in New York City. Our focus is to provide children, ages 4-18 who are patients or survivors of juvenile cancer, the opportunity to explore their artistic passions and give them the strength to fight their disease. We believe that artistic expression is critical for healing! A Free Bird supports children affected by cancer in their exploration of art, music, acting, poetry, writing, singing and any other artistic passion they may have.
Description
Understanding of the ukulele is a must. Has played or continues to play the ukulele and is able to teach to a child in NJ. Willing to travel and use their time to teach a child with cancer a song, or rhythms of the ukulele and incorporate the arts into teaching the child their art form. This individual should have knowledge in how to deal with sick children, this is not a requirement but must understand that we do have children who are sick and you must know how to schedule your program accordingly.
Must have the ability to work for 12 weeks, an hour per week and will be compensated for your transportation.
