Program Volunteers needed to support students in Frederick

Come help support our "I Have A Dream" program in Frederick! The students are in 5th grade and need academic and social emotional support from dedicated volunteers like you! Support the site staff in the facilitation of activities and build meaningful relationships with the students.

The "I Have A Dream" Foundation's mission statement: The mission of the "I Have A Dream" program is to motivate and empower children from low-income communities to reach their education and career goals by providing a long-term intervention program of mentoring, tutoring, and cultural enrichment.

Program Volunteer Commitment: At least one day each week, Monday-Thursday for the Spring semester (September-December)

Time: Roughly 3pm-5pm

Program Volunteer Responsibilities: Volunteers work with small groups of Dreamer Scholars and support the program staff in carrying out snack time, recess, homework help, academic skills support, and enrichment activities (e.g. soccer, art, music, finance classes, yoga, relaxation techniques, journaling, etc.)

Ideal Volunteer: Someone who enjoys working with youth and is flexible, energetic, patient, and thrives in a hands-on environment that can be characterized as having a "buzz of productivity."
