Assist Special Events Manager with the following: pre-event community outreach and marketing including print mailings and other strategies, assist with coordinating event committee meetings, assist with author logistics and author hosting, work event days and help to staff volunteer green room. Bring friends!
Ability to work a flexible schedule during event season which starts in October and runs through the middle of April.
This is a fun experience for anyone who loves books, is well organized and dependable. We're hoping to build a solid group of volunteers we can count on for various tasks throughout the year that help support libraries and literacy in Broward County through our major literary events.

Description
The Broward Public Library Foundation is committed to enhancing the literacy skills of residents of all ages through a variety of funded learning opportunities. The Foundation's signature fundraising event is Literary Feast which brings best-selling authors to Broward County several times during the year. Recent authors who have participated in Literary Feast and other BPL Foundation special events include ABC News and NPR Commentator, Cokie Roberts; critic David Denby; humorist Dave Barry; Princess Diaries author Meg Cabot and many more exceptional writers.
