Mission Statement
The Broward Public Library Foundation is a 501(c) 3 charitable organization incorporated in 1982 committed to enhancing the collections, programs and services of the Broward County Library system beyond the means of public funding. Our nonprofit foundation is the catalyst in sparking private funding and endowments to ensure that a state of excellence is achieved throughout the county's growing family of libraries.
Description
The Broward Public Library Foundation is committed to enhancing the literacy skills of residents of all ages through a variety of funded learning opportunities. The Foundation's signature fundraising event is Literary Feast which brings best-selling authors to Broward County several times during the year. Recent authors who have participated in Literary Feast and other BPL Foundation special events include ABC News and NPR Commentator, Cokie Roberts; critic David Denby; humorist Dave Barry; Princess Diaries author Meg Cabot and many more exceptional writers.
