ORGANIZATION: Grey Bears

One of the ways we help motivate each other here at Grey Bears is through a free lunch for all departments. This is a great chance for our volunteers to catch up with each other and make new connections. We are always looking for people who are passionate about food to join us in the kitchen to help prepare these hot meals. This is a great opportunity to be at the heart of our organization and see volunteers from all departments during the lunch hour. It is also a great chance to gain some kitchen experience and skills from our lead chef as we are willing to train people new to the culinary world.

Description

We offer more than 20 ways to volunteer at Grey Bears. - Healthy Food program - quality control, assembling and delivering weekly brown bags - Glean Team - help us pick fruit and other produce for the program. - Thrift Store - sorting donations, prepping/pricing, merchandising and cashiering. - Books - shelve books, cashier, or evaluate and list books on Amazon.com - Computer/ Electronics - We need your tech skills to test and repair donated electronics, audio-video gear, appliances, and to run a register and assist shoppers to find the right component, or disassemble computers in our e-waste center. - Cooks - Help us prepare and serve healthy meals for seniors and volunteers. - Office/Administrative - Help us provide excellent customer service for, and tracking/surveying of Grey Bears program participants. - Facilities Maintenance - Projects abound at our 3-acre Chanticleer campus. Your carpentry, electrical and handyman experience are most appreciated. - Events and classes - we offer weekly and monthly classes, senior support groups and luncheon events that could use your help.
