ORGANIZATION: Grey Bears

If you are social person with any background in retail the thrift store could be a great fit for you! We are looking for volunteers who are ready to connect with the community and operate a register in any of our four thrift store departments. We are currently looking for cashiers in our book, computer, housewares and furniture stores. If you are ready to build relationships with members of the community and have an eye for detail this position is for you!

Description

We offer more than 20 ways to volunteer at Grey Bears. - Healthy Food program - quality control, assembling and delivering weekly brown bags - Glean Team - help us pick fruit and other produce for the program. - Thrift Store - sorting donations, prepping/pricing, merchandising and cashiering. - Books - shelve books, cashier, or evaluate and list books on Amazon.com - Computer/ Electronics - We need your tech skills to test and repair donated electronics, audio-video gear, appliances, and to run a register and assist shoppers to find the right component, or disassemble computers in our e-waste center. - Cooks - Help us prepare and serve healthy meals for seniors and volunteers. - Office/Administrative - Help us provide excellent customer service for, and tracking/surveying of Grey Bears program participants. - Facilities Maintenance - Projects abound at our 3-acre Chanticleer campus. Your carpentry, electrical and handyman experience are most appreciated. - Events and classes - we offer weekly and monthly classes, senior support groups and luncheon events that could use your help.
