Help Medicare beneficiaries understand and get the most from their Medicare health benefits. GeorgiaCares Medicare volunteers are needed now more than ever as the aging and disabled populations grow. Multiple volunteer opportunities are available to fit your skills and interests. Prepare and distribute materials, educate the community at presentations or community events, or provide individual counseling. Whether you are helping someone navigate the Medicare maze, save money, or protect themselves against health care fraud, you will make a difference in the lives of people in your community. Training is provided for required certification. If you receive Medicare, have loved ones receiving Medicare or simply want to help people with Medicare, GeorgiaCares is the program for you. GeorgiaCares is a volunteer-based program that provides free, unbiased and factual information and assistance regarding Medicare and other related health insurance. GeorgiaCares in the Medicare State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) for Georgia.

The RSVP (Retired & Senior Volunteer Program) mission is to improve lives, strengthen communities, and foster civic engagement through service and volunteering.
RSVP is a national volunteer program for individual ages 55 and older. It is a division of Senior Corps and is administered by the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), a federal agency that promotes volunteering across the US. The Georgia Mountains RSVP project is sponsored by Legacy Link, Area Agency on Aging, which provides services for older adults in 13 counties in the North Georgia Mountains. A variety of RSVP volunteer assignments are available in the counties of Banks, Dawson, Forsyth, Franklin, Habersham, Hall, Hart, Lumpkin, Towns, Union, and White. Share your experience, skills, talents, and wisdom with agencies and programs in your local area to benefit members of your community. You receive assistance with matching your skills to a volunteer position and locating sites at which to volunteer; recognition and appreciation for volunteering; and free supplemental accident and liability insurance while working as an RSVP Volunteer.
