Social Media Subcommittee Lead

ChickTech is looking for an experienced social media professional to lead a small team of volunteers to manage the social media presence of ChickTech’s efforts to increase and retain women in tech and diversify the tech workforce and establish it as a welcoming, community-focused organization committed to changing the tech industry. ChickTech is currently active on LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.

The social media lead will be a member of the ChickTech marketing committee.

Subcommittee tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Creating social media guidelines/rules to ensure ChickTech chapters and HQ social media activities are consistent with organization policies and encourage respectful discourse

  • Curating regular content that responds to viral trends

  • Creating a social media strategy, including occasional ads, to raise the visibility specific events and/or posts

  • Recruiting and managing team members to support the ChickTech social media activities (subcommittee lead)


Desired qualifications:

  • Experience creating and executing social media strategic plans

  • Commitment to keeping up on social media trends

  • Ability to leverage viral opportunities

  • Volunteer and/or project management experience


Estimated time commitment: 15 - 20 hours a month

Through our programs, we build community, empower participants to see themselves as leaders, and provide networking and mentoring opportunities in the rapidly growing tech industry.

As a mostly volunteer-run non-profit, we are always searching for partners who would like to get involved through donations of expertise, volunteer time, in-kind, funding, or just by helping to get the word out.
