The Willamalane climbing program is looking for volunteers eager to help get kids and adults excited about climbing. Climbing experience is preferred but basic training may be provided if a volunteer is otherwise qualified.
Most importantly volunteers should be ready to help create a fun, safe environment for kids of all ages.
Volunteers are needed for:
Kids Climbing Club: Mondays/Thursdays from 4:00pm-6:00pm at the Willamalane Center
The Ascenders Climbing Club: Wednesdays 6:00pm-7:30pm at the Willamalane Center
Community Climb Time: Wednesdays 7:00pm-9:00pm
Duties include but are not limited to: fitting climbers with shoes and harnesses, belaying on the roped wall, and monitoring the bouldering wall.

Description
Willamalane Park and Recreation District maintains and operates seven recreation facilities and 44 parks and natural areas that make up more than 1,500 acres. Highlights include Splash! at Lively Park, Camp Putt Adventure Golf Park, Wildish Community Theater, 13 waterfront areas, 21 miles of hiking and biking trails, 15 sports fields and 24 playgrounds. Willamalane offers hundreds of recreation programs to more than 60,000 patrons. Created by voters in 1944, Willamalane is a special tax district, separate from the city of Springfield, with its own boundaries. It is governed by a five-member, elected board of directors and managed by a district superintendent. Online information is available at willamalane.org
