Bookstore volunteers: Your time has value with us. Bookstore volunteers sort, select and price donated books and other media for sale, and are sometimes in charge of maintaining and categorizing book genre sections of the bookstore, such as the children’s section, travel book section, cook book section, etc. Duties may include uploading boxes, checking for damage, sorting books by subject and value and making pricing decisions based on a set criteria, and stocking bookshelves with books and other media (such as music CDs and DVDs). Volunteers need to be able to push carts up to 40 lbs, and to bend, stoop and stretch.
Help further our mission to support and enhance the value of the Boca Raton Public Library in our community. We raise funds through our bookstore to supplement library programs and services. In 2015, sales at our bookstore helped us fund over $30,000 for library programs, donate over $15,000 to launch the library's new Discover Studio, and contribute over $13,000 to sponsor Friends cultural programs at the library. You can help! If you have some time and would like to meet new people, share, and increase your knowledge of books, and help the library - we would like to hear from you!
Other volunteer opportunities: There are also several other volunteer opportunities available within the Friends organization, including event planning, event Ambassadorship, social media marketing, and technical support.
We'll work with your schedule.
