Interim HealthCare San Diego Hospice provides services to our patients wherever they call home, whether it be a private residence or a skilled nursing facility. Our mission is to give patient and family empowered care, preserving dignity and providing comfort.
Some of our patients have had to give up their pet(s) due to their illness, so a visit from a therapy animal brings an immense amount of joy and fulfillment. Our team has also witnessed the therapeutic component of having a therapy animal visit, such as lowered blood pressure, pain management, tactile stimulation, emotional release, and much more. If you have a certified pet therapy animal we would love to have you on our team.
NO previous hospice experience is necessary!! We provide a comprehensive 16 hour training as well as ongoing education and support. Volunteers must submit to a background check, drug screen and 2 step TB testing provided at no cost by our agency.
