An office assistant volunteer/intern will be working at our regional LA-West Covina location, helping our staff facilitate core functions of our Human Capital and Data Management Departments, including recruiting, hiring, conducting orienations, and auditing data.

GENERAL PURPOSE OF Volunteer Internship:

The primary role of the Human Capital Volunteer/Intern is to partner with the Recruiting and Human Resources’ Department offering support and assistance for the end-to-end hiring process. Duties include, but are not limited to creating and maintaining requisition/candidate files, coordinating interviews, preparing and reporting the staff hired for after-school programs, Tutoring and Summer Enrichment programs. The Human Capital Intern works closely with Recruiting and Human Resources’ departments to deliver positive results throughout the hiring process.


  • Oversees collection and reporting of employee data supporting THINK Together programs; including but not limited to, supplemental staffing needs and trends, long term planning for concurrent programs in the WC Region; ensure a high level of data quality
  • Reviews resumes, conducts phone screens if necessary, and forwards information to the appropriate hiring manager
  • Coordinates interview or assessments with candidates and hiring managers
  • Schedules, proctors and grades pre-employment tests
  • Updates & maintains candidate status in the ADP Applicant Tracking System
  • Organizes own work to ensure deadlines are met
  • Completes work on time and communicates candidate status with hiring managers
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Some administrative or customer service experience desirable

Other Requirements:

  • College student working toward a Business degree with an emphasis in Human Resources.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office to ensure appropriate compliance reporting
  • Must pass Live Scan (fingerprinting), Background Check, and Tuberculosis Test
  • Use typical office equipment (including copiers, faxes, phones, interoffice mail)

  • Orientation or Training
  • Minimum of 3 days / week at least 3 hours each day
  • Business college student-Human Resources Major/Interview/TB test clearance from the last 3 years
