We rely on our volunteer groups to help us manage a large file of child sponsors and help us get material into the hands of new sponsors. The dedication of our volunteers is life-changing for vulnerable children all over the world. You’ll also find that there is value in volunteering when considering college applications and other character-building requirements.
The mission of Food for the Hungry is highly dependent on our groups of faithful volunteers.
....what type of work we would be doing?
Most of our volunteer opportunities are primarily in the Production and Communication Department. We could use individuals with attention to detail as we service over 100,000 child sponsors through assembling child sponsorship packets, stuffing envelopes and other administrative tasks.
Each spring the 135, 000 children in our program send their sponsors a "Get to Know Me Better Letters". Last year our volunteers prepared about 120,000 letters for mailing! This Project usually runs from February through June.
....how volunteering, for Food for the Hungry, works?
We love hosting groups of all sizes. We invite individuals to volunteer for a minimum of 3 hours during the hours of 8 am and 4 pm Monday - Friday. If you are interested in bringing a group (10-50 volunteers) just let us know. Larger group sizes of more than twenty, Saturday mornings from 9 am -12:00 pm.
If you have further questions, please email email@example.com or call to Barbara Chapman at 480.609.7707.

About Food for the Hungry
1224 E Washington St, Phoenix, AZ 85034, US
To walk with churches, leaders and families in overcoming all forms of human poverty by living in healthy relationship with God and His creation.
Food for the Hungry (FH) is a Christian organization serving the poor globally since 1971. We reflect the love of Christ in short-term emergency relief and long-term community developement to end world hungry.
FH focuses on helping children and suffering communities. We support churches, leaders and families in caring for children. As communities grow spiritually, economically, and in healthy practices, children grow up with hope for their future.
Our programs are designed with input from the poor. Our experts respectfully bring new practices in agriculture, health, child development and more to impoverished communities. The result is innovation and long-lasting relationships.
More than 90 percent of the 2,000 FH staff members are citizens of the 23 countries we serve around the world. We partner with the poor and respect their culture.
We'll work with your schedule.
