Volunteers are absolutely vital in maximizing the resources of Lake Erie Nature & Science Center. It is with your help, in a wide variety of ways, that we are able to continue to fulfill our mission.
Current Opportunities Wildlife Internship (ages 18 & up)

Interns take part in an unique educational opportunity by assisting wtih animal care, wildlife rehabilitation and public education. More information can be found here.

Wildlife Internships are available and applications will be accepted at the following times:

  • Academic year (September - May): Applications accepted during the month of August
  • Summer (May - August): Applications accepted during the month of March
Facilities Volunteer - Ground Maintenance (ages 18 & up)

This position is responsible for assisting in performing general grounds maintenance in the Center’s backyard gardens, including pulling weeds, plant care, leaf raking and removal, sweeping paths to clear stones and mulch, snow removal. We are requiring a candidate who can commit to a regular schedule which could include weekly, bi‐weekly or monthly.

Wild Summer Reading Camp Volunteer (ages 13 & up)

We are looking for Summer Volunteers to read to, and with, children and to assist Summer Campers with Accelerated Reader computer quizzes and journaling activities. Campers will be children entering grades 1-4 at local area schools.

Camp dates are July 18-August 12, 2016.

Camp times are 8:30-11:30am and/or 12:30-3:30pm.

Volunteers must commit to at least four shifts over the four week period.
