Organizing Storage Unit

Help us create a welcoming and supportive environment for new Americans. Our refugee clients are resttled here by the U.S. government to New Orleans. We collect donations from the community to equip their first American homes with everything they need to start their new lives from alarm clocks to pots and pans and sofas.

This opportunity is for organizing, auditing and tracking our inventory at our on-site location and remote storage unit nearby. We host this oportunitu Tuesdays, Wedensdays and Thursdays. You can specify the hours that work with your schedule by emialing the coordinator.

Volunteer Roles:

-Taking notes on the inventory checklist and inventory data management

-Organizing, sorting, lifting, and moving items

If you volunteer for this opportunity, please wear comfortable shoes and clothing appropriate to light lifting and organizing.

Refugee Resettlement Program (504) 457-3462

Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans Refugee Services provides resettlement and self-sufficiency services to over 100 newly arrived refugees and other immigrants with humanitarian legal status each year. We welcome refugees to the Greater New Orleans area with case management, employment assistance, cultural orientation, and other services to ensure their self-sufficiency and integration into our community. Case managers support refugee clients who are resettled here by the U.S. government from countries all over the world - from the time of their arrival at the airport for up to five years after their arrival. Common countries of origin include Cuba, Iraq, and Burma.
