STW(tm) is a U.S.-based nonprofit organization whose mission is to conduct water research to identify and remove harmful contaminants in water; and to raise public awareness about water contamination and its health impacts. STW also offers educational programs to excite young minds about water science.

Save the Water(tm) is seeking an enthusiastic Project Leader for the Events team. The primary responsibility of this position is to coordinate and manage the team and work with various departments within Save The Water. You will present and improve Save The Water brand as also enhance fundraising efforts by coordinating Save The Water events, which may include trade shows, fundraising events, education DILOS and STEM classes and others.

These are volunteer positions for a cause. The cause is long term. STW(tm) offer opportunities to committed individuals to our cause.

Project Leaders are expected to put in a minimum of 8 hours per week and be responsive to emails within three (3) calendar days.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage on average 2-3 volunteers within the events team, holding them accountable for their work.

  • Plan and conduct monthly team meeting, including sending agenda, taking meeting minutes, and follow up.

  • Work with the Fundraising Group to coordinate fundraising events, such as walks, auctions, networking events, cleanup fundraisers.

  • Work with the Education Group to coordinate DILOS and STEM events.

  • Research trade events that Save The Water should attend.

  • Create event budget and ensure the final event is below or at target.

  • Coordinate and manages events and trade shows, including booking venues, ordering and coordinating marketing materials etc., assigning volunteer responsibilities for those attending the event.

  • Attend events, ensuring all details are executed flawlessly.

  • Provide monthly report of your team’s progress to the President and Vice President.

  • Attend monthly Marketing group meeting.

  • Keep PWR minimum on a weekly basis

  • Complete the PWR audit for the Associate Level each month

  • Report to Associate Director for the given project team


  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and details simultaneously.

  • Requires self-direction, tact, diplomacy and a clear, courteous and professional manner when dealing with the public.

  • Must demonstrate effective oral communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with staff inside and outside of the department.
