The Battered Women’s Legal Advocacy Project is a nonprofit dedicated to providing legal consultation, support, technical assistance and training to victims of domestic and sexual violence, as well as the advocates, attorneys and other systems professionals that work with victims as they navigate the legal system.

We are currently recruiting new Board Members to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be an active part in the movement to end domestic and sexual violence, give back to society, and exercise your polished leadership skills.

As a BWLAP Board Member, you will have the opportunity to work closely with other Board Members in overseeing the general operations of the agency, fundraising, and large-scale decision making. Responsibilities include close communication with the Executive Director, actively initiating, overseeing, and completing fundraising campaigns, approving financial statements and annual budgets, and supporting the organization and its mission. Board Members are expected to regularly attend meetings and actively participate in all board activities during their 2 year term(s).

We welcome applicants with a variety of skills and backgrounds; business experience is a plus. An interest in the improvement of the community, the ability to actively participate, a passion to end all forms of oppression, and a strong work ethic are a must.

BWLAP is based out of Minneapolis, MN, but candidates from the greater Minnesota area are welcome to apply.
