Outreach Rescuer
Rescuing Leftover Cuisine is a nonprofit food rescue organization dedicated to reducing food waste and getting leftover food to those in need. We have an availiabilty on our leadership team for an Outreach Rescuer. This volunteer would assist with recruit of more volunteers and Lead Rescuers.
- Assisting with recruitment and engagement of new, interested volunteers
- This would mean setting up discussions and speaking arrangements at churches, YMCAs, schools, libraries, etc.
- Cultivating new lead rescuers, welcoming them and meeting them
- Engaging the community (putting up flyers, helping out with our already scheduled college tabling events, etc)
- Social events for volunteers in their areas.
- Setting up Meet and greets, happy hours, group volunteer events, soup kitchen events
- Expected time commitment: 2-5 hours per week

Description
Rescuing Leftover Cuisine (RLC) is a nonprofit organization committed to fighting food insecurity and preventing wasted food. We have cultivated a network of dedicated food rescuers who bring food directly from our food donors to nonprofit recipients, letting neighbors help neighbors while reaping the environmental and economic benefits of reducing wasted food. Founded in 2013, our simple, but elegant model has saved over 8 million pounds of food since our inception.
