Rescuing Leftover Cuisine is a nonprofit food rescue organization dedicated to eliminating both food waste and hunger. Our food rescue events typically last 30 minutes and take place all over Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens. We are currently looking for Core Rescuers to join our leadership team of volunteers!
A Core Rescuer is a passionate volunteer who commits to leading 5 food rescue events every week (the same events every week). You will be picking up food from our partner restaurants and companies, and dropping it off at local homeless shelters and soup kitchens to feed those in need.
We will provide training and an unlimited monthly MetroCard for every month of your 4-month commitment.

Description
Rescuing Leftover Cuisine (RLC) is a nonprofit organization committed to fighting food insecurity and preventing wasted food. We have cultivated a network of dedicated food rescuers who bring food directly from our food donors to nonprofit recipients, letting neighbors help neighbors while reaping the environmental and economic benefits of reducing wasted food. Founded in 2013, our simple, but elegant model has saved over 8 million pounds of food since our inception.
