Anoka is bringing together members from all parts of our community to understand how well we are serving people with dementia and their family and friend caregivers and to explore how we can act together to make the community informed, safe and respectful of individuals with dementia and their families. Volunteers are an integral part of the process in completing interviews with community members, and various professionals within 11 different sectors of the area.
Location: The location may be in an office setting or within various community locations in Anoka.
Schedule: Interviews will be conducted within a specified timeframe with more details at an informational training session. Volunteers should expect to interview community members, community services/support areas up to 4 hours a week.
Responsibilities:
* Interview community members within the specified timeframe
* Record the interview information
* Provide interview results to the Project Coordinator
* Help educate internal (within team members’ organizations) and external stakeholders about Alzheimer’s and its impact on all community sectors.
* Support community action plan as it emerges
Requirement: Attend a 2 hour training session on either:
- Thursday September 15th from 6:00-7:30 PM at Rum River Human Service Center at 3300 4th Ave. N. Anoka MN 55303
- Tuesday September 20th from 1:00-2:30 at Zion Lutheran Church 1601 4th Ave. Anoka MN 55303

The Anoka County RSVP connects people age 55 and over who want to volunteer with non-profit and social service programs in Anoka County who need volunteers. Volunteers enroll by completing a skills and interests checklist and these are matched to community needs. From the matches, the volunteer selects a volunteer job that is meaningful and fits.
